A quick note to let everyone know that we are back in the States. As "D" will attest, we are going thru a lot of stupidity, Army style. But the key is we are home. It is so clean and green here, and people bathe - glorious

Sgt Grumpy, We need to write a book on just getting mobed and de-mobed...I thought it was worst than the actaul deployments...except for spending time in Kuwait--which is purgtory (Iraq is hell)
Just close your eyes, click your heels and say:"there's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home"
And it'll get over quicker...or everyone will think you're nuts.

"D" - They already think I am crazy and are convinced I have anger issues (but haven't I always) I actually have to say that our active duty counterparts have been exceedingly good to us on this trip and have been mostly professional. If anything it is our own Guard leadership responsible for silliness. But I am not going to let them get me down.

You remember our "guard" leaderlessship. Well, it's even worse. We're now led by mostly non-vets who managed to slip by and miss any wars...and will continue to slide by...and have no clue. Our new B.C. thinks we'll be able to do our jobs with new software...it'll figure out everything...right. Crap.
I made the mistake of telling him at the last AT that war is not a video game...you can't make a program to win.

Man, I've been slacking in not commenting and letting you know how glad I am you're back in the States. In my own defense, I was helping some folks testify in front of Congress, including someone important to me.
